GREGORY ANTELL

Personal Statement

Beyond research, I enjoy playing guitar and piano, working out, and traveling. I grew up in the Philadelphia area and attended college at the University of Notre Dame.

Research Statement

I am a 4th year graduate student at BIOMED interested in exploring how HIV-1 genetic variation influences and is affected by HIV disease progression. I am exploring this relationship through multiple projects that utilize and explore HIV sequence data in the context of various clinical parameters.

Projects

[4] HIV-1 Tat genetic variation affects NeuroAIDS

[3] Co-evolution of HIV-1 accessory proteins with respect to tropism

[2] Genetic variation of the HIV-1 LTR with respect to predicted host miRNA interactions

[1] HIV-1 CTL epitope signatures with respect to the HIV-1 reservoir in PBMCs
